What they need

Lead Low Voltage Technician

5+ Years of Experience | Telecommunications & Network Infrastructure

We’re hiring an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to join a growing telecommunications and network infrastructure company serving commercial projects throughout the local area.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows the low-voltage trade, takes pride in quality work, and is comfortable helping guide other technicians in the field. You’ll work alongside the team while helping coordinate day-to-day activities, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure installations are completed safely and according to project requirements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of low-voltage or structured cabling experience and has previously served as a Lead Technician, senior-level technician, or trusted mentor to less experienced team members.

What You’ll Do

As a Lead Low Voltage Technician, you’ll serve as a senior technical resource on commercial job sites while helping keep projects and technicians moving in the right direction. Responsibilities may include:

  • Lead and support technicians performing low-voltage installations on commercial and active construction sites
  • Install, route, terminate, test, and troubleshoot CAT5/6, fiber optic, coax, AV, security, and other low-voltage cabling
  • Install and support equipment such as network switches, cameras, access control devices, wireless systems, racks, pathways, and related infrastructure
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, cable schedules, site layouts, and project documentation
  • Help coordinate daily work assignments and priorities based on project requirements
  • Provide hands-on training, technical guidance, and mentorship to entry- and mid-level technicians
  • Inspect completed work for quality, proper labeling, testing, and adherence to installation standards
  • Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, and installation issues and help determine appropriate solutions
  • Communicate project progress, material needs, field conditions, and potential issues to Foremen, Project Managers, or other leadership
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure team members follow job-site and company safety requirements
  • Help maintain organized materials, tools, equipment, and work areas
  • Work independently when needed while maintaining accountability for assigned work and team responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with the ability to lead by example. You should be comfortable jumping into the work yourself while also helping less experienced technicians develop their skills.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, telecommunications, network infrastructure, security, AV, or a closely related field
  • Strong hands-on experience pulling, terminating, testing, labeling, and troubleshooting copper and/or fiber cabling
  • Experience working in commercial construction or active job-site environments
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and cable layouts
  • Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring technicians
  • Ability to organize work, communicate expectations, and help keep a crew productive
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to quality workmanship, professionalism, and job-site safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, project leadership, and other trades on-site

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding field work
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • OSHA 10 preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to take on a key leadership role with a growing company
  • Work on a variety of commercial telecommunications and network infrastructure projects
  • Help train and develop the next generation of technicians
  • Continued opportunities for advancement into Foreman, Field Supervisor, or other leadership positions
  • Team environment that values safety, professionalism, craftsmanship, and accountability
  • Competitive compensation based on experience, with overtime potential

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
