Lead Mainframe Engineer

We are seeking Lead Mainframe Engineer to support and maintain enterprise mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM Z/z/OS environments, DB2, mainframe storage, SMP/E, UNIX System Services (USS), Zowe, and z/OSMF .

DB2 experience is a critical requirement for this position. Candidates should have demonstrated experience working with DB2 within a mainframe environment, along with strong knowledge of mainframe software installation, configuration, deployment, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support enterprise IBM Z/mainframe environments .
• Install, configure, customize, maintain, and deploy mainframe software.
• Support DB2 environments and related mainframe infrastructure.
• Manage and support mainframe storage infrastructure.
• Work with SMP/E for installation and maintenance of mainframe software products.
• Support UNIX System Services ( USS ), Zowe , and z/OSMF environments.
• Troubleshoot complex mainframe infrastructure and software issues.
• Support system upgrades, configurations, deployments, and maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and utilities using mainframe programming/scripting languages.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, database, and engineering teams.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on mainframe engineering activities.
• Analyze system issues and implement effective technical solutions.
• Follow enterprise standards for system security, configuration, change management, and software deployment.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in a mainframe environment.
• Strong hands-on DB2 experience – critical requirement.
• 1+ years of experience with UNIX System Services (USS), Zowe, and z/OSMF.
• 2+ years of experience working with mainframe storage infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience installing, customizing, and deploying mainframe server software using SMP/E.
• Experience with one or more of the following mainframe technologies/products:
• z/OS
• ESP
• ACF2
• Endevor
• Syncsort
• WebSphere
• DFSMS
• HSM
• CICS
• DB2
• 2+ years of coding/scripting experience with one or more of:
• REXX
• COBOL
• SAS
• ISPF
• CLIST
• JCL
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualification

• IBM Specialist (System z) certification or equivalent IBM Z/mainframe certification.
