About Aquagga

Aquagga is on a mission to keep PFAS out of people and the planet. We develop and deploy technologies that permanently destroy PFAS in environmental remediation, industrial wastewater, and other complex treatment applications.

Our values are Be Curious, Be Professional, and Make Global Impact.

Role Summary

Aquagga is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to lead hands-on maintenance of our treatment systems while also serving as a qualified operator of Aquagga's hydrothermal alkaline treatment (HALT) equipment.

This role keeps systems safe, maintained, documented, and deployment-ready through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and functional testing.

Primary success metric: Aquagga's field systems are maintained, traceable, and ready for safe deployment and operation.

Why This Role Matters

Reliable deployments depend on equipment being ready before it reaches the field. This role owns the hands-on maintenance work that keeps systems available, identifies recurring reliability issues, and supports safe customer operations.

Core Responsibilities
Maintenance & Asset Readiness

  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for treatment systems and supporting equipment.
  • Perform inspections, repairs, component replacement, troubleshooting, and functional testing.
  • Maintain service records, equipment histories, deficiencies, and parts usage.
  • Prepare systems for deployment and complete post-deployment inspections.
  • Identify recurring failures and escalate reliability concerns.

Technical & Field Support

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, process, instrumentation, and equipment-level electrical issues.
  • Use manuals, procedures, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and drawings to diagnose problems.
  • Support equipment assembly, commissioning, testing, and approved modifications.
  • Travel to customer sites to support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and demobilization.
  • Become and remain qualified to operate HALT systems.

Safety & Procedures

  • Follow lockout/tagout, hazardous-energy-control, and site safety requirements.
  • Support maintenance procedures, checklists, and work instructions.
  • Coach other personnel on approved maintenance activities as qualified.
  • Stop work and escalate when conditions are unsafe or outside established procedures.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance, field service, manufacturing, process equipment, wastewater, or related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with pumps, piping, valves, motors, fittings, or similar equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Working knowledge of equipment-level electrical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings.
  • Experience with lockout/tagout and hazardous-energy control.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 40% and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Personal Attributes

Hands-on, dependable, organized, and safety-minded. You take ownership of equipment condition, document work carefully, communicate clearly, and know when to troubleshoot independently versus escalate.

Aquagga is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or any other basis prohibited by applicable law.
