Lead Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and coordinate maintenance activities across our facilities. This role is vital in ensuring the reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, while maintaining a safe and compliant environment. As a leader within the maintenance team, you will manage daily operations, supervise technicians, and implement maintenance repair procedures that enhance operational efficiency. Your expertise in industrial maintenance and facilities management will drive continuous improvement and uphold safety standards across all maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing systems, and other facility equipment.
• Manage maintenance repair procedures using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, inventory, and equipment history.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues related to mechanical, electrical, low voltage, high voltage, and HVAC systems using schematics, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations by conducting safety audits, training staff on safety procedures, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Coordinate projects involving facilities upgrades or repairs while managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, safety compliance reports, and equipment documentation.
• Oversee the management of facilities maintenance teams by providing leadership in supervising team members’ performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills

• Proven management experience with strong team leadership capabilities in industrial or facilities maintenance settings.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including HVAC systems repair and plumbing system maintenance.
• Proficiency in electrical systems troubleshooting with experience using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and schematics.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to industrial maintenance and safety procedures.
• Skilled in project management principles to coordinate multiple ongoing tasks efficiently.
• Experience with CMMS software for work order management and inventory control.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with engineering troubleshooting skills for complex system diagnostics.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination.
• Ability to manage high voltage electrical systems safely while adhering to safety regulations.
• Competence in using Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation purposes.

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
