Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

What you'll be doing

1. Oversee and coordinate the mechanical design process, ensuring adherence to project requirements, industry standards, and best practices
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers, to develop integrated and optimized design solutions
3. Conduct technical analyses, such as load calculations, system simulations, and equipment selection, to support the design process
4. Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings, specifications, and documentation to support the construction and implementation phases
5. Review and approve design work completed by junior engineers and technicians
6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the design team to foster their professional development
7. Ensure the mechanical design complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry
3. Proficient in the use of CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks, for the creation of detailed design drawings
4. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, and other mechanical building services
5. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address complex design challenges
6. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams
7. Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in the mechanical design field
