Lead Medication Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to lead medication administration support within a care-focused environment. In this role, you will help ensure medication processes are carried out safely, accurately, and in alignment with organizational procedures and applicable regulations. Responsibilities

• Oversee daily medication-related workflows and support accurate medication administration practices.
• Provide guidance, training, and on-the-job support to team members involved in medication services.
• Monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable state and facility requirements.
• Assist with medication audits, documentation review, and reconciliation processes as needed.
• Support communication between team members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders regarding medication-related concerns.
• Identify and escalate medication discrepancies, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in a timely and organized manner.
• Help coordinate schedules, assignments, and coverage to support consistent service delivery.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment for residents, patients, or clients.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and support ongoing process enhancements.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in medication administration or a related healthcare support role.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or team coordination experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and procedures.
• Knowledge of medication safety practices, confidentiality requirements, and compliance standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members and other stakeholders.
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Basic computer and recordkeeping skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a senior living, assisted living, long-term care, or similar care setting.
• Previous experience training or mentoring medication support staff.
• Relevant certification, license, or training consistent with applicable state and employer requirements.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or incident reporting processes.
