Lead Mobile Engineer (Flutter)

🎯 The Mission We’re looking for a Lead Mobile Engineer (Flutter) to take technical ownership of our mobile engineering direction and help shape the next generation of the SHOPFLIX mobile experience.

Our mobile app is a key part of the customer journey — from discovering and comparing millions of products to checkout, payments and order tracking. As our Lead Mobile Engineer, you’ll combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, helping us build a mobile experience that is fast, reliable, scalable and genuinely easy to use.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape our mobile architecture, engineering standards and ways of working, while partnering closely with Product, Design and Backend teams to turn ambitious ideas into simple, high-quality customer experiences.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the code, close to the product and close to the people — someone who can solve complex technical challenges while bringing clarity, raising the engineering bar and helping others grow.

🧩 What You Will Do

• Own the technical direction and architecture of the SHOPFLIX Flutter application.
• Design and build scalable, high-quality mobile features across iOS and Android.
• Define and evolve engineering standards, patterns and best practices across Flutter and Dart development.
• Build and maintain core architecture, shared components and reusable mobile capabilities.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to translate customer and business needs into thoughtful technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Backend Engineering to design reliable APIs and seamless end-to-end customer journeys.
• Lead technical delivery across key product areas including discovery, search, personalization, product comparison, checkout, payments and order tracking.
• Proactively identify technical and architectural risks and drive pragmatic solutions.
• Continuously improve performance, stability, observability, security and release quality.
• Define and evolve testing strategies across unit, widget, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Own and improve mobile CI/CD, release processes, app distribution and production monitoring.
• Review code and technical designs, providing constructive feedback and raising the overall engineering bar.
• Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Take ownership of complex production issues and lead them through to resolution.
• Work with Engineering leadership to shape the mobile roadmap and long-term technical strategy.
• Make thoughtful trade-offs between technical excellence, customer value, delivery speed and business priorities.

✅ What We Are Looking For

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building and maintaining production mobile applications.
• Strong professional experience with Flutter and Dart.
• Proven experience designing and evolving scalable mobile architectures.
• Strong understanding of state management, asynchronous programming, networking and the mobile application lifecycle.
• Experience delivering and maintaining applications across both iOS and Android.
• Strong understanding of mobile performance, reliability, security and release management.
• Experience designing and implementing automated testing strategies.
• Solid experience integrating APIs and collaborating closely with Backend Engineering teams.
• Strong Git and CI/CD experience.
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, mentoring and code reviews.
• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to make pragmatic, well-reasoned technical decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, Design, QA and other stakeholders.

🔧 Nice to Have Experience With Some Of The Following

• Riverpod, BLoC, Provider or similar state-management solutions.
• Clean Architecture, MVVM or other scalable architectural approaches.
• Native Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android development.
• Firebase, Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config or similar services.
• Advanced CI/CD using Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Codemagic or similar tools.
• Feature flags, experimentation and A/B testing.
• Mobile observability and performance-monitoring tools.
• Deep linking, push notifications, background processing and offline-first patterns.
• E-commerce, marketplace, payments, search, recommendations or personalization.
• Experience scaling a mobile codebase and engineering practices across a growing team.
• Experience defining technical roadmaps and making effective build-vs-buy decisions.
