Role Summary

The Lead Network Engineer works for a network implementation and service support provider serving customers across all industry sectors. This senior technical role advises customers and internal teams, designs and implements network solutions, and serves as the Tier 2 escalation point for complex engineering and service issues across diverse customer environments. The role helps ensure network, firewall, security, and WLAN services are reliable and secure, from requirements discovery and solution design through implementation, advanced troubleshooting, and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

·        Consult with customers across different industry sectors and internal stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements, assess existing environments, and recommend suitable network solutions.

·        Design, review, and document customer-specific network architectures, topologies, bills of materials, implementation plans, change plans, and test plans.

·        Install and configure network equipment and deliver implementation, migration, upgrade, and network refresh projects while minimizing service disruption.

·        Act as the Tier 2 escalation point for complex incidents across multiple customer environments by performing in-depth analysis of logs, packet captures, monitoring data, and configurations; identify root causes, implement permanent fixes, and provide technical guidance to L1/L2 teams.

·        Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN/WAN, routing, switching, WLAN, firewall, VPN, and network security technologies, including policy management, access control, segmentation, and secure connectivity.

·        Create and maintain technical documentation, including configurations, topology diagrams, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, change records, and incident reports.

·        Plan and execute changes in line with change management practices, including impact assessment, rollback planning, and post-change validation.

·        Coordinate with L1/L2 teams, vendors, project managers, and customer contacts across all industry sectors to resolve escalated issues, meet service levels, and deliver project milestones and agreed timelines.

·        Mentor team members and share technical knowledge to improve operational practices and service quality.

Qualifications

·        More than 5 years of experience in Network Engineering or Network Infrastructure.

·        Strong knowledge of routing and switching, including TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP/VRRP, and advanced network troubleshooting.

·        Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, migrating, or upgrading enterprise network environments.

·        Experience serving as a Tier 2 escalation point, handling complex escalations and root cause analysis, and working to SLAs or IT service management processes.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with clear communication skills for both customers and technical teams.

·        Ability to plan work, prioritize competing tasks, coordinate across teams, and produce clear technical documentation in English.

·        Flexibility to participate in out-of-hours change activities when required by project or service needs.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Cisco CCNP or Arista ACE: L3 certification is a strong advantage.

·        Experience with Cisco and/or Arista technologies in enterprise or data center networks.

·        Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, security policies, VPNs, WLAN technologies (such as controller-based or cloud-managed wireless), network access control, monitoring, automation, or cloud networking.

·        Previous experience in a customer-facing technical consultant, implementation engineer, or service support role.
