LEAD OPERATOR / KITCHEN MANAGER

MELT'D is a new premium delivery-only restaurant bringing indulgent comfort food with a French twist to San Diego. We're looking for a Kitchen Lead who wants more than just another cooking job—someone excited to help build a restaurant from the ground up.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily kitchen operations
• Prepare and execute recipes with consistency and attention to detail
• Organize prep and maintain inventory
• Train and support future kitchen team members
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
• Help build kitchen systems, procedures, and organization
• Ensure every order reflects the MELT'D brand

Requirements

• ServSafe Manager Certification (required)
• 3+ years of professional kitchen experience
• Previous experience as a Lead Cook, Kitchen Supervisor, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager preferred
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable transportation
• Authorized to work in the United States

Compensation

Base Pay

$26/hour

Monthly Performance Bonus

Up to $1,000/month

Schedule

Full-time position

Wednesday – Sunday

Typical shift:
3:30 PM – 11:30 PM

Location

Barrio Logan, San Diego
Near Cesar Chavez Parkway and I-5.

Hiring Process

Hiring begins October 5th to allow time for training, systems setup, and launch preparation.

Final candidates will complete a practical kitchen and leadership assessment.

Assessment includes a short prep exercise, station walk-through, and discussion of operational scenarios.
