About Us
Sterling Painting Group is a Washington-licensed general contractor specializing in painting, drywall, and insurance restoration work across the greater Seattle/Puget Sound region. Position Summary
We're looking for an experienced Lead Painter/Foreman to run day-to-day operations on our job sites. This person owns quality, safety, and production — leading crews, managing schedules, and making sure every job meets Sterling's standards from prep through final walkthrough.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise painting (and drywall, as needed) crews on assigned job sites

- Enforce quality control — surface prep, product application, mil thickness, color/sheen accuracy, and clean lines
- Conduct daily jobsite safety checks; enforce PPE, ladder/scaffold safety, and OSHA compliance
- Hold toolbox talks and address hazards before they become incidents
- Assign tasks, mentor crew members, and manage productivity/performance on site
- Track material usage and coordinate with PM on ordering and deliveries
- Communicate with property owners, GCs, or property managers on-site as the face of the crew
- Identify and flag change orders, scope gaps, or additional damage (especially on restoration jobs)
- Complete daily job logs, photos, and progress reports for the office
- Perform quality final walkthroughs and punch-list work before job closeout
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional painting experience, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong working knowledge of prep, application, and finish standards for interior/exterior work
- Experience running a crew and holding people accountable to a schedule
- Knowledge of jobsite safety practices; OSHA 10/30 a plus
- Comfortable communicating with clients, GCs, and adjusters on-site
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to read plans/specs and estimate material needs
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders/scaffolding
