Lead - Payroll-Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, plan, direct, and coordinate with respective user departments for submission of salary documents.
• Oversee and ensure timely payment of all salary-related accounts and verification processes.
• Monitor all salary records paid by entities and departments.
• Ensure timely updates of salary trackers and submission of salary reports to management.
• Manage cash flow projections and tracking related to payroll activities.
• Prepare budgets and financial forecasts and report variances with cost driver analysis.
• Lead a team of Payroll Accountants to effectively deliver payroll operations.
• Support the preparation and compilation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Improve process efficiencies and implement cost-reduction initiatives.

Functional Skills

• Advanced knowledge of payroll processing and salary components.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong follow-up skills with the ability to manage payroll timelines effectively.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Data analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills.
• Budgeting and forecasting expertise.

Qualification

• Inter CA / ICWA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com/Any Postgraduate

Experience

• 16 to 20 years

Selection Criteria

• Must have experience leading a team of 2 to 5 Payroll Accountants.

• Must be conversant with payroll processing and all applicable payroll governing laws.

• Experience in preparing salary payment processes and procedures.

• Experience in effective use and process improvement of ERP systems (EPICOR, SAP, or other prominent ERPs).

• Industry-specific payroll experience handling a minimum of 2,000 employees.

• Preferred age profile: 35-45 years.
