Lead Preschool Teacher

Job Summary

Duties

• Lead classroom activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development tailored to various age groups such as toddlers and preschoolers.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding each child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships for child welfare.
• Oversee classroom organization, including maintaining cleanliness, safety protocols, and age-appropriate learning materials.
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor developmental progress and inform instructional strategies.
• Supervise assistant teachers and support staff while providing mentorship in curriculum development, classroom management, and child development instruction.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare; respond promptly to any incidents or concerns following legal requirements.
• Incorporate diverse instructional methods such as early intervention techniques, physical education activities, math exercises, and tutoring sessions to support holistic development.
• Stay current with best practices in early childhood education by participating in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood development, special education, and daycare standards.

Experience

• Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings with a strong background in early childhood education principles.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across multiple domains including literacy education, math, physical activity, and Montessori methods.
• Experience managing classrooms for young children with varying needs—including those requiring special education or early intervention services—is highly desirable.
• Skilled in behavior management strategies that promote positive social interactions and emotional regulation among young learners.
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques that foster an organized environment conducive to active learning.
• Prior experience communicating effectively with parents about developmental milestones and educational progress is essential.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare; ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations with first aid and CPR certification preferred.
