Lead Recycling Labor

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head Recycler to supervise, direct, and coordinate the daily operations and staff at the recycling center. This position oversees the recycling yard, performs container quality control, keeps materials flowing, and ensures a clean, safe facility.

The Head Recycler performs supervisory, operational, and customer service functions to ensure the safe and efficient handling of recyclable materials. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers bringing materials to the recycling center and keeps the Project Manager informed of container capacity and yard conditions.

Role Responsibilities

Operations & Supervision

· Supervise and direct recycling center staff in daily operations.

· Perform quality control of the recycling yard and maintain the flow of materials so nothing overflows.

· Notify the Project Manager when containers are approaching 80% capacity.

· Operate a forklift.

Container & Truck Operations

· Escort front-load and roll-off trucks as needed.

· Perform quality control checks on temporary and permanent roll-off containers.

· Swap front-load containers using the container delivery unit (CDU).

· Complete minor container repairs, such as lids.

Customer Service

· Direct customers when they bring materials in.

· Answer the recycling center phone with excellent customer service and working knowledge of the program.

Safety & Facility Upkeep

· Keep the yard and facility clean.

· Uphold safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Prior experience in a supervisory position.

· Strong customer service and communication skills.

· Ability to operate a forklift. Certification is not required to apply; ZWS can assist with certification.

· Ability to obtain and maintain required background checks and base access credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

· Current forklift certification.

· Prior federal background check at any tier.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
