THE HAIRPORT

QUEENS CENTER MALL — SALES & BEAUTY SPECIALIST

ABOUT THE HAIRPORT

The Hairport is a luxury hair extension and beauty brand specializing in premium human hair extensions, wigs, bundles, lace products, haircare and professional beauty products.

Our Queens Center Mall location is a luxury retail experience designed to allow customers to see, touch, feel, test and shop The Hairport products while learning how to achieve their desired hair and beauty look.

We are seeking a confident, energetic and sales-driven Beauty Sales Specialist who can represent the brand professionally and turn mall traffic into customers.

THE ROLE

This is not a sit-behind-the-counter retail position.

The ideal candidate is someone who naturally approaches people, starts conversations, asks questions, identifies what the customer needs and confidently recommends the right product or service.

You will be the face of The Hairport inside Queens Center Mall.

Your job is to:

ATTRACT → ENGAGE → EDUCATE → RECOMMEND → SELL → FOLLOW UP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT

  • Greet customers and mall shoppers with a warm, professional approach.
  • Proactively engage people walking past the kiosk.
  • Invite shoppers to explore and feel our hair extensions.
  • Ask questions about their hair goals, upcoming events, desired look and budget.
  • Create genuine conversations rather than using aggressive sales tactics.
  • Build relationships with first-time and returning customers.
  • Make every customer feel welcomed and valued.
  1. SALES & REVENUE GENERATION

Responsible for actively generating sales of:

  • Human hair bundles
  • Wigs
  • Hair extensions
  • Ponytails
  • Tape-ins
  • I-Tips / K-Tips
  • Microlinks
  • Lace products
  • Lace tint
  • Lace adhesive
  • Edge control
  • Melt spray
  • Haircare products
  • Hair extension accessories
  • Installation packages
  • Promotional bundles and gift sets

You will also:

  • Recommend complementary products.
  • Upsell and cross-sell when appropriate.
  • Promote current promotions and bundle packages.
  • Introduce customers to financing/payment options when available.
  • Convert product shoppers into installation/service clients.
  • Collect customer information for approved follow-up marketing.
  • Work toward individual and kiosk sales goals.
  1. PRODUCT EDUCATION

You will become knowledgeable about The Hairport product line and be able to explain:

  • Hair quality
  • Hair textures
  • Lengths
  • Density
  • Wig construction
  • Lace types
  • Hair maintenance
  • Installation options
  • Adhesive products
  • Lace tint products
  • Edge products
  • Product application
  • Product removal
  • Recommended products for different customers

The goal is not simply to sell a product.

The goal is to help the customer understand why that product is right for them.

  1. PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS

Assist customers with our designated product-testing/demo area.

Depending on the product and company direction, demonstrations may include:

  • Lace adhesive
  • Lace tint
  • Edge control
  • Melt spray
  • Hairline products
  • Other approved beauty essentials

Employees must follow all product safety, sanitation and demonstration procedures.

  1. INVENTORY & LOSS PREVENTION

Because The Hairport carries premium and high-value inventory, employees must take inventory security seriously.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor products displayed throughout the kiosk.
  • Prevent unauthorized removal of merchandise.
  • Immediately report missing, damaged or suspicious merchandise.
  • Maintain organized product displays.
  • Follow inventory-count procedures.
  • Keep expensive hair extensions and wigs properly secured.
  • Monitor customer handling of merchandise.
  • Never leave the kiosk unattended unless properly relieved.
  • Follow all mall and company security procedures.
  1. KIOSK APPEARANCE

Maintain the kiosk as a luxury beauty environment at all times.

  • Creating an inviting visual presentation.

The kiosk should look ready for a customer at every moment of the day.

  1. APPOINTMENT & SERVICE CONVERSION

The Queens Center Mall location will also introduce customers to The Hairport's professional beauty services.

Employees should identify customers who may be interested in:

  • Wig installations
  • Quick weaves
  • Ponytails
  • Sew-ins
  • Tape-ins
  • Microlinks
  • I-Tips
  • K-Tips
  • Other extension services

The employee should confidently explain the service and assist the customer with the next step toward booking.

  1. SOCIAL MEDIA & BRAND AWARENESS

Employees may assist with:

  • Encouraging customers to follow The Hairport.
  • Promoting Instagram/TikTok content.

  • Supporting influencer/creator collaborations.
  • Participating in approved demonstrations and promotional activities.

  • Promoting new product launches.

SALES EXPECTATIONS

We are looking for someone who is comfortable selling.

You should be comfortable saying things such as:
