Job Title: Lead Sample Maker

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sample Maker to join our dynamic team in the field of textiles and leather goods. As a Sample Maker, you will play a crucial role in bringing design concepts to life by creating high-quality prototypes and samples. Your expertise in working with various materials, precision in craftsmanship, and ability to interpret design specifications will contribute to the successful development of our products.

Responsibilities

• Pattern Development: Generate precise patterns based on design specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
• Material Selection: Collaborate with the design team to choose appropriate textiles, leather, and other materials for sample creation, considering quality and design objectives.
• Cutting and Assembly: Utilize industrial cutting tools and sewing machines to cut and assemble materials according to established patterns, maintaining a high level of precision and craftsmanship.
• Prototype Creation: Produce high-quality prototypes and samples that reflect the intended design, functionality, and quality standards.
• Problem Solving: Address and troubleshoot any issues or challenges that arise during the sample-making process, offering solutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product developers, and other team members to understand project requirements and contribute valuable insights to the design and development process.
• Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of samples to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring that the final products meet specified quality standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials used, processes applied, and any modifications made during sample development, contributing to an organized and efficient workflow.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sample Maker in the textiles and leather goods industry.
• Proficient in pattern making, cutting, and sewing techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of various textiles, leather, and related materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality samples.
• Ability to interpret design specifications and translate them into tangible prototypes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with industrial sewing machines and other relevant tools.
• Creativity and a passion for staying updated on industry trends and innovations.
