Lead SAP S/4HANA Development Consultant

There are SAP projects, and then there are transformation programs that give you the chance to work at a scale and level of complexity that doesn't come around very often.

Our client is entering the build phase of a major, multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation, and we're looking for an accomplished SAP developer to join the program for an initial 14-month contract.

This is a hands-on development role for someone who has evolved with SAP's technology stack. We're not looking for a traditional ABAP developer whose experience stops with classic ECC development. We want someone who understands how modern SAP solutions should be designed and built across S/4HANA, ABAP Cloud, RAP, CDS, Fiori/UI5 and BTP, with clean-core principles at the heart of the approach.

What you'll be doing

You'll be working within a large S/4HANA build program, developing applications, services and extensions that will form part of the client's future SAP landscape.

The work will include:

• Designing and developing modern SAP applications and extensions
• Hands-on development using ABAP Cloud and modern object-oriented ABAP
• Building solutions using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
• Developing CDS views and CDS View Entities
• Building modern user experiences across SAP Fiori, Fiori Elements and SAPUI5
• Developing and consuming OData services and APIs
• Supporting extensibility across S/4HANA and SAP BTP
• Working within a clean-core development approach
• Collaborating with functional consultants, architects and other developers to turn complex requirements into maintainable solutions
• Helping move development away from legacy customization patterns toward SAP's modern extensibility model

• Modern object-oriented ABAP
• SAP BTP
• S/4HANA extensibility
• Released APIs and modern integration patterns
• ADT / Eclipse
• Clean-core development principles

Strong traditional ABAP foundations are still important, but the difference here is what you've been doing recently . We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate how they've used the newer SAP development stack on real S/4HANA programs rather than simply having exposure to the terminology.

This is an opportunity to join a significant S/4HANA transformation at an important point in its journey, with the program now moving firmly into build and delivery .

You'll be working in a modern SAP environment, solving complex development challenges and helping shape solutions that will be used long after the initial implementation is complete.

Initial contract: 14 months

Location: Remote within the U.S.
