Lead SAP Engineer

A well-established international provider of managed cloud services and technical consulting is expanding its Belgian operations. It supports organisations that depend on business-critical applications, including SAP, and is known for dependable, locally delivered technical support.

To support continued growth, the company is looking for a Lead SAP Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with leadership and strong customer relationships. The role is split between hands-on technical work (roughly 50-70%) and leading the team and its customers.

Responsibilities

• Organising and coordinating the team’s day-to-day operations and workload
• Coaching and developing colleagues, including performance conversations and input on hiring
• Acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of customers
• Monitoring incidents, changes, projects and SLA performance
• Advising customers and leading escalations, both technical and organisational
• Supporting business-critical SAP environments and leading upgrades, migrations and cloud projects
• Driving automation, standardisation and continuous service improvement

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience as an SAP Basis / SAP BC engineer
• Hands-on experience with Linux, databases, VMware and/or cloud platforms
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
• Analytical, structured and solution-oriented
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is an advantage
• Previous team lead experience is a plus, but senior technical professionals with leadership ambitions are equally welcome
