BLACKROC is currently working with a large Federal Government organisation seeking an experienced Lead Security Architect to join their team on an initial 12-month contract, with the potential for a further 12-month extension.
This is a great opportunity for a senior cyber security professional who enjoys working across security architecture, risk management and governance, and wants to play a key role in shaping secure technology solutions within a complex government environment.
You'll be responsible for providing technical leadership, developing security architecture and design documentation, and working closely with stakeholders to identify and manage security risks across a range of technology initiatives.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the development of cyber security architecture, solution designs and security controls across enterprise systems.
- Conducting security risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending practical risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring security solutions align with government frameworks and industry standards, including the ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight and ISO standards.
- Developing and maintaining security policies, standards, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Providing security architecture advice across digital transformation initiatives, system integrations and technology projects.
- Working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and senior executives to support informed security decisions.
- Identifying security control gaps, managing risks and supporting ongoing compliance and security improvement initiatives.
What we're looking for
We're keen to speak with experienced Security Architects and senior cyber security professionals who can bring a combination of strong technical architecture expertise and government security governance experience.
Ideally, you'll have:
- At least 5 years' experience working with Australian Government ICT governance, security policies, standards and frameworks.
- Proven experience developing cyber security architecture and detailed security design documentation.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of the ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight, ISO standards and security risk management frameworks.
- Experience conducting security risk assessments and providing advice on risk treatment and compliance.
- Exposure to complex digital transformation programs across multiple technology domains.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Relevant ICT qualifications or industry certifications.
- Experience operating as a Senior or Lead Security Architect within a government or similarly complex enterprise environment would be highly regarded.
