Lead Service Developer / Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance REST APIs, SOAP services, and microservices-based applications.
• Work with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and event-driven architecture.
• Apply solution architecture principles, design patterns, and integration frameworks to develop robust software solutions.
• Optimize API performance, application resiliency, caching strategies, and messaging systems.
• Work with Kafka and other messaging platforms to support reliable data exchange.
• Implement and manage distributed caching solutions using technologies such as Redis and Apache Ignite.
• Participate in production support rotations and resolve application issues within agreed timelines.
• Mentor junior developers and offshore teams, providing technical guidance and reviewing designs, code quality, and delivery timelines.
• Apply object-oriented analysis and design, modular coding practices, prototyping, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
• Monitor application health and performance using tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Explore and effectively use AI-powered coding tools to improve developer productivity.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

• Overall Experience: 12+ years in software engineering.
• Java: 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java 8 or later.
• Backend Development: Extensive experience with Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SOAP, and microservices.
• Architecture: Strong understanding of SOA, event-driven architecture, solution architecture, design patterns, and integration frameworks.
• Databases: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• AI Coding Tools: Hands-on exposure to GitHub Copilot, Claude, Windsurf, or similar tools, with a solid understanding of token utilization optimization.
• Caching: Experience with distributed or near-cache solutions, including Redis and Apache Ignite.
• API and Messaging: Strong knowledge of API performance optimization, resiliency, Kafka, and messaging systems.
• Production Support: Experience handling production support rotations and troubleshooting critical issues.
• Technical Leadership: Experience mentoring developers and reviewing technical designs, code quality, and deliverables.
• Monitoring: Familiarity with Datadog, Dynatrace, or Splunk.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Experience with distributed systems and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices and collaborative engineering workflows.

Pay: ₹1,240,000.00 - ₹2,040,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Bangalore City, Bengaluru, Karnataka
