What they need
Are you a hands-on builder who loves being creative, building unique things, and seeing the fruits of your labor displayed all over town? Do you enjoy collaborating with a supportive team and working with people? Does the idea of helping your local community stand out excite you?
At FASTSIGNS of Maple Shade, we love what we do, and we are looking to add an experienced, safety-conscious Lead Sign Installer to our fast-paced, growing team.
As an Installer, you’ll play a vital role in bringing our designs to life. You will be responsible for getting finished signs and graphics securely in place - whether that’s in the ground, on a wall, on the floor or hanging from a ceiling. You’ll use a variety of tools to assemble, erect and hang items indoors and outdoors, making every day a rewarding, new challenge. Because every job site is a little different, you should be a natural problem solver who can think on their feet, and a fear of heights won’t be in your vocabulary. Most of your days will be spent moving, lifting and building a wide variety of unique, custom projects alongside a supportive team who truly cares about our customers’ success.
If you are looking for a rewarding career where no two days are the same, you get to build cool things, take pride in craftsmanship, and love seeing the physical results of a job well done, this is the career for you!
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience: Previous installation and production experience in the signage industry is a bonus, but not an absolute requirement.
- Must-Haves: Strong experience in the construction, carpentry, or handyman industries is preferred, as well as a valid OSHA card and a Driver’s License with a clean record. Must have experience and be comfortable using power tools.
- Mindset: Every job presents its own unique challenges, so you must possess strong problem-solving abilities, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills are an absolute must. Clear and immediate communication between the field, the shop, and the customer is crucial for our business to run smoothly. Because this role requires constant logging, photo updates, and team check-ins, strong communication skills are a non-negotiable requirement.
- Integrity: We value honesty, dependability, and a strong work ethic. You will often represent our company on-site with clients, so professional integrity is a non-negotiable trait.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation and Removal: Install a variety of signage including channel letters, vinyl graphics, monument signs, LED/illuminated signage, and other signage and graphic demands. Perform professional removal of existing signage and graphics. Perform basic electrical connections and low-voltage wiring for illuminated/LED signage.
- Site Survey and Documentation: Take detailed on-site measurements and notes. Log photos (before/after) and site details into our project management software to document job progression.
- Efficiency and Collaboration: Complete multiple installations daily. Coordinate closely with sales, management, design, and production teams to ensure jobs are completed exactly to the job’s specifications.
- Shop Support: Occasionally assist the production team at the shop with fabrication. Strategically plan and prepare for upcoming jobs with the team to ensure the best experience for our customers.
- Safety: Strictly follow safety protocols on-site and when operating heavy machinery and tools, including wearing proper PPE (hard hats, safety vests, etc.) and safely operating a bucket truck and scissor lift.
A TYPICAL DAY IN THE LIFE
Your day starts at our Maple Shade shop at 8:00am with a quick morning huddle with the production manager. From there, you will load up the necessary tools, signs, and equipment into our installation van or bucket truck.
On any given day, you will complete multiple jobs throughout the tri-state area, usually focusing on the South Jersey and Philly area. Typically, the day ends at 5:00pm (except Fridays, which end at 12:00pm!), though larger jobs may occasionally require additional hours. In the event that install jobs are finished early, you will head back to the shop to prep for upcoming installations and/or assist the production team.
FASTSIGNS provides all the necessary tools to efficiently and effectively complete jobs including an iPad for documentation and updating jobs in our project management software systems.
