Compensation: Salary or Hourly: $130,000–$165,000 Salary

Client Overview:

Vernovis is partnering with a global leader in critical digital infrastructure to identify a Lead Software Developer to support its Development Tooling organization.

What You'll Do:

• Lead hands-on development of custom tooling supporting a global secure software development environment.
• Build and maintain integrations connecting development tools, processes, and engineering systems.
• Support platform migrations and consolidation across source control, issue tracking, requirements, and test management systems.
• Build metric-gathering and reporting capabilities that collect, parse, and present engineering data.
• Break technical Features into actionable Issues with clear acceptance criteria and guide developers through implementation.
• Review merge requests for code quality, security, test coverage, and alignment with approved designs.
• Establish and enforce coding, testing, linting, and documentation standards across the tooling portfolio.
• Mentor developers while remaining an active individual contributor writing and shipping production code.

What Experience You'll Have:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands-on experience shipping production code.
• 2+ years of experience serving as a technical lead or senior developer, including code review and backlog breakdown.
• Strong hands-on Python development experience and meaningful experience with GitLab, including source control, Issues, merge requests, and CI/CD.
• Experience building REST and/or GraphQL API integrations and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and the ability to translate technical designs into executable work for other developers.

What Experience is Nice to Have:

• Experience building internal developer tooling, DevSecOps solutions, bots, platform integrations, or engineering automation.
• Experience with Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or C#, along with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Exposure to SBOM, software signing, vulnerability management, Grafana, GitLab work-item hierarchies, CODEOWNERS, or merge-request quality gates.
