LEAD, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT & DIGITAL SOLUTIONS

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage software development projects from requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance
• Conduct code reviews and ensure that software development follows established coding standards and best practices
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot software issues to ensure system reliability and availability
• Coordinate with internal departments and users to identify system requirements and improve existing applications
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications and software development records
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and ensure timely completion of assigned projects
• Coordinate with external software vendors and service providers when required
• Carry out any other IT-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor and Head of Department (HOD)

Minimum Qualifications Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in software/application development with experience in leading or supervising a development team.
• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), software architecture, database management and system integration.
• Experience in developing web-based applications, APIs and database-driven systems will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, system deployment and software security practices will be an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving skills and stake-holder management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Good project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Able to work independently, take initiative and lead a team in a fast-paced working environment.
• Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office and other relevant software development tools.
• Experience in the aviation industry or other highly regulated industries will be an added advantage.
