Lead Software Engineer – AWS & Terraform

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join an international Cloud Development Platform / DevSecOps team and help shape scalable cloud and AI capabilities.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine strong software engineering expertise with technical leadership, mentoring and cloud architecture.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop and operate scalable, high-quality cloud platform services.
• Lead engineering standards, DevSecOps best practices and continuous improvement.
• Drive technical decisions around AWS, microservices, cloud architecture and infrastructure.
• Identify and manage technical debt, operational risks, scalability and performance.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the wider cloud engineering community.
• Work closely with global stakeholders across engineering and technology teams.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong ownership of cross-functional projects.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+, including concurrency, multithreading, reactive programming and JVM optimisation.

• Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot, including Security, WebFlux, Data/MyBatis and Spring internals.

• Strong experience designing and operating microservices on AWS, particularly:

  • ECS
  • DynamoDB
  • Aurora
  • SQS / SNS
  • EventBridge
  • Lambda

• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform and CI/CD.

• Solid understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI, cloud security, resilience and operational excellence.

• Experience with modern testing tools such as TestContainers, WireMock, RestAssured or LocalStack.

• Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.

• Passion for mentoring, continuous learning and solving complex technical challenges.
