Lead Software Engineer

Position: Lead Engineer (FinTech Platforms)

Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to drive technical initiatives and oversee system operations for high-scale payment and marketing services. As their product offerings expand, our client is building a stronger engineering team to enhance system stability and user experience. In this role, you will take ownership of existing systems, make key architecture and code-level decisions, guide junior engineers, and lead future system modernizations while collaborating closely with project managers, product managers, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Architecture: Drive technical decisions, guide architecture design, review code, and provide hands-on technical mentorship to engineers across multinational development teams.
• System Operations & Modernization: Oversee the operation and maintenance of high-availability, high-scale platforms while leading plans for system replacement and version upgrades.
• Execution & Delivery: Partner with project managers to drive development deliverables that align with quality standards, deadlines, budgets, and scope.

Mandatory Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience covering end-to-end service lifecycles (design, release, and operations).
• 3+ years managing/maintaining the same system, with proven experience leading teams through system upgrades or major architectural renewals.
• Strong schedule management, task planning, and cross-team coordination capabilities.
• In-depth technical knowledge of RDBMS, Redis, Kafka, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, and high-availability architecture design.
• Practical experience designing, developing, and optimizing scalable web applications with Java and Spring Boot.

Desired Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure), Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and performance testing.
• Demonstrated experience acting as a Tech Lead or leading development teams.
