Lead Software Engineer

About the role

This role involves converting technical component designs into working back-end and front-end code, delivering projects on time and on budget while maintaining programming standards. You will create and maintain unit tests, diagnose and resolve software problems, manage deployment across staging environments, and oversee project source code repositories. The position includes team leadership responsibilities, including coaching, managing deliverables, overseeing revenue versus expenses within the team, and screening and interviewing software engineer applicants. You will also participate in proposal generation, process standardization, and initiatives to increase team skills, quality, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Convert technical component design into working back-end code and/or front-end code
• Consistently deliver projects on time and on budget
• Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation
• Create and maintain unit tests before endorsing applications for QA testing
• Diagnose and resolve software problems quickly and efficiently
• Participate in reviewing project requirements
• Manage deployment of applications to different staging environments
• Maintain and handle project source code repositories
• Provide accurate project status reports to the Project Manager/Delivery Manager
• Provide coaching and assistance to the team

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or any related course
• At least 8-10+ years of working experience in developing websites, web applications, web services, or mobile applications
• In-depth understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Object-Oriented Programming
• In-depth experience in Object-Oriented design and programming skills
• In-depth experience in HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript frameworks
• In-depth experience in MySQL, MongoDB, or similar database management systems
• In-depth experience in web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
• Strong leadership and ability to manage a team
• Strong analytical skills, highly detailed and process-oriented
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Filipino
