Lead Software Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on technical leader to guide a team through modernizing core applications, blending architecture, mentoring, and full-stack development, in a hybrid role based in Columbus, OH.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack applications using C#, modern .NET, and REST APIs on the back end, with React and TypeScript/JavaScript on the front end
• Lead efforts to modernize legacy applications and break monolithic systems into more flexible, maintainable services
• Shape architecture decisions around microservices and service-oriented design
• Develop and deploy cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure
• Work with SQL Server on data modeling, performance, and integration needs
• Run code reviews and set the bar for quality, security, and maintainability
• Mentor engineers through pairing, feedback, and technical guidance
• Encourage thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor or Claude Code, to speed up delivery
• Partner with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver features reliably

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core / modern .NET, and RESTful API development
• Full-stack experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience building and deploying applications in Microsoft Azure
• Background in microservices, service-oriented architecture, and SQL Server
• Track record of modernizing legacy applications or migrating monolithic systems
• Technical leadership experience, including architecture discussions, mentoring, and code reviews
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
