Software Engineer – Python / AWS

Work Arrangement: Remote, must be able to work Eastern Time hours

Position Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong backend development experience in Python, APIs, SQL, AWS, and data processing technologies. This person will work across Agile teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable applications, with a particular focus on AWS and serverless solutions.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting complex technical issues, improving deployment pipelines, and communicating proactively with technical, product, vendor, and enterprise stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack technical solutions within an Agile environment.
• Develop applications using Python, APIs, SQL, Spark, AWS services, and serverless technologies.
• Design and develop APIs and integrate applications across distributed systems.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, containers, and open-source technologies.
• Build and enhance local build and deployment pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, database, and deployment issues across environments.
• Identify root causes, implement fixes, and address impacted data when necessary.
• Develop new features with minimal direction while considering performance, scalability, reliability, and other non-functional requirements.
• Apply modern application architecture and design patterns across moderately complex environments.
• Help other engineers understand and apply appropriate architecture and design patterns.
• Partner closely with technical, product, vendor, and enterprise teams.
