Lead Software Engineer- Lead Software Engineer – AWS / Enterprise Email Platform

Lead Software Engineer responsible for designing and building a high-volume enterprise email delivery platform. Lead the architecture, implementation, and operations of the system, ensuring deliverability, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect the enterprise email service using AWS SES, ensuring scalability and high deliverability.
• Lead technical design reviews and establish engineering patterns and guardrails.
• Guide and mentor senior engineers, facilitating knowledge transfer and code quality.
• Drive end-to-end delivery, monitoring, and troubleshooting of email operations.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, SRE, and business stakeholders to align technical decisions.
• Own the implementation of email delivery features, including SPF, DMARC, DKIM, IP warming, and suppression.
• Define operational metrics and alerting for bounce, complaint, and reputation signals.
• Ensure secure handling of email content and recipient data, implementing encryption and secrets management.

Qualifications:

• Deep expertise in enterprise email delivery and deliverability, including SPF, DMARC, DKIM, IP warming, sender/IP reputation, bounce and complaint management, suppression strategies, and ISP/provider throttling.
• Advanced hands-on experience designing high-volume email solutions using AWS SES, including dedicated IPs/pools, configuration sets, sending identities, SNS event notifications, CloudWatch monitoring, IAM, and multi-account/environment strategies.
• Strong experience designing resilient, high-throughput asynchronous services, including queuing, retries/backoff, idempotency, rate limiting, dead-letter handling, and failure recovery.
