Role Overview

As the Lead TypeScript / React Developer , you will lead the design and delivery of the POS Host Runtime component within our client's core Product Journey Engine (PJE) platform. Working closely with the Chief Architect and leadership, you will own component contracts, resolve complex cross-boundary technical challenges, and ensure seamless delivery for an international enterprise client.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and delivery of the POS Host Runtime (TypeScript applet running inside a third-party ePOS).
• Own contracts between engine, host, and visual Designer, including versioning and public API stability.
• Interface directly with clients and internal stakeholders to translate specifications into designs, architectural plans, and actionable Jira stories.
• Own automated testing, code quality, and technical troubleshooting across the host/engine boundary.
• Mentor team members, lead code reviews, and drive AI-assisted development practices.
• Confidently challenge incomplete or incorrect specifications to ensure accurate, performant solutions.

Must-Haves

• Strong TypeScript / JavaScript / React Expertise: Extensive experience leading complex end-to-end component or service delivery.
• Client-Facing & Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with comfort navigating customer-facing situations.
• Architecture & API Design: Background in contract-driven design, JSON / JSON Schema, and building reusable libraries or SDKs.
• Modern Tooling: Deep proficiency with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions).
• AI Tooling Mindset: Active enthusiasm for AI adoption and AI-first engineering tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot).
• Security & Location: Ability to meet client security clearance requirements and work hybrid on-site in Boston, MA.

Nice-to-Haves

• Claude Experience: Hands-on experience or certifications utilizing Claude AI tools.
• WebAssembly Knowledge: Any exposure to WebAssembly (WASM) or WASM/.NET interoperability is a significant bonus.
• UI Frameworks & Embedded Systems: Experience with Material Design, embedded/hosted JavaScript apps, or browser peripherals integration.
• C# / .NET: Basic exposure or willingness to learn backend .NET concepts.

Compensation & Work Model

• Salary Range: $115,000 – $140,000 USD base salary per year
• Bonus: 5% annual bonus potential
• Work Model: Hybrid (2 days/week on-site at Boston, MA office; 3 days remote)
