Lead Software Engineer - Workday Compensation

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Workday Compensation to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will guide the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of compensation technology solutions within a highly regulated environment. You will partner closely with digital product leaders and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable capabilities that support compensation administration and the broader Total Rewards function. The position also includes mentoring engineers, strengthening delivery practices, and ensuring solutions align with business priorities and operational standards.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $100,000 – $170,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of compensation solutions in Workday Core and Advanced Compensation
• Collaborate with Digital Product Managers to align technical solutions with business goals
• Provide strategic technical input into product design and delivery planning
• Ensure alignment with Workday best practices and security standards
• Drive process improvements to enhance user experience and operational efficiency
• Mentor and coach Product Engineers to foster best engineering practices
• Oversee testing and quality assurance for compensation solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Workday, specializing in Core and Advanced Compensation
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience with technical teams
• In-depth understanding of compensation administration and Total Rewards processes
• Expertise in gathering requirements and supporting production environments through effective solutions
