Lead Storeperson

About the role

Lead Storeperson role based at Ellis Street, Hamilton. Full-time (40 hours per week), Fixed Term (1 Nov 2026 – 30 Jan 2027). Reports to Managing Director/Production Lead/Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt of raw ingredients and packaging consumables
• Inspect incoming deliveries for quality, packaging damage, leaks, and pest contamination
• Verify delivery notes against purchase orders and log incoming stock into the inventory system
• Direct the safe unloading and storage into designated zones
• Supervise and coordinate seasonal dispatch team to deliver finished products to retail and ecommerce customers within agreed timelines
• Oversee pallet wrapping and secure loading to prevent product damage
• Generate and check the accuracy of dispatch documentation
• Plan daily loading schedules and coordinate with couriers and freight carriers
• Support and liaise with the Production Lead to ensure continuous flow of raw materials and packaging to production and dispatch lines
• Maintain strict adherence to Food Safety regulations and manage stock rotation for perishable ingredients

About you

• 3+ years in warehousing, with at least 2 years in an inwards/dispatch environment, preferably in beverage/food manufacturing or similar
• Demonstrated experience leading and supporting a small team
• Current New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence
• Valid Forklift (F) endorsement
• Reliability – must arrive on time each day, have own transport and be available to work occasional weekends, by agreement
• A high standard of personal hygiene is required for beverage manufacturing environment
• Some heavy lifting and physical activity are required, so a reasonable level of mobility and fitness is necessary
• Strong communication skills for liaising with team, courier drivers, freight carriers and suppliers
• High level of literacy and computer competency for tracking purchase orders, loading inventory and general business communication
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
