Lead Engineer - Systems Automation & Backend Development

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer with expertise in systems automation, backend development, and cloud infrastructure tooling. This role will focus on developing and maintaining automation solutions that support large-scale virtual machine migration workflows.

The ideal candidate will have strong Python and Go development experience, a deep understanding of Linux-based systems, virtualization technologies, and the ability to build reliable, scalable backend services and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services supporting automated VM migration workflows.
• Design and build CLI tools and automation scripts to streamline customer-driven migration processes.
• Implement state tracking, validation checks, rollback mechanisms, and workflow automation.
• Integrate automation platforms with databases and orchestration APIs.
• Troubleshoot migration failures, system bottlenecks, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve reliability and scalability.
• Support testing, deployment, and operational readiness of migration solutions.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong programming experience with Python and Go (Golang) .
• Advanced Bash scripting skills.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, and automation platforms.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and hypervisors.
• Experience with VM storage snapshots, migration workflows, and state-transfer technologies.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Knowledge of database-backed applications and workflow engines.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience with orchestration and automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of large-scale infrastructure operations.
• Experience supporting production environments and mission-critical systems.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
