Lead Systems Engineer

The Defense Systems Plant within the Missile & Space Systems Group is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to provide engineering leadership for the development of a naval air defense system for international customers.

The air defense system includes a family of surface-to-air missile interceptors, launch systems, radar, communication systems, command and control systems, and interfaces with the ship's systems.

The Role Includes

• Leading the engineering activities for the development and delivery of a naval air defense system.
• Providing engineering leadership across a wide range of engineering disciplines, working with engineering teams at leading defense companies and organizations, including ELTA, Rafael, MLM, and others, while managing the engineering matrix within the Defense Systems Plant.
• Managing and overseeing the project's engineering activities and coordinating all engineering interfaces with the customer.
• Defining and consolidating project requirements derived from customer contractual documents.
• Defining the system architecture and system components ( System of Systems ).
• Writing high-level system specifications.
• Providing engineering leadership throughout the development, integration, and system verification processes.
• Leading the integration and interfacing of the system with ship systems developed and supplied by some of the world's leading defense industries.
• Managing systems engineers in a matrix environment, both within the Defense Systems Plant and with systems engineers at subcontractors.
• Leading system performance analysis and development and acceptance testing, both in Israel and abroad.
• Working with customers and subcontractors in Israel and overseas.
• Participating in naval activities, including sailing aboard ships equipped with the systems.

What We're Looking For

• B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering – mandatory .
• M.Sc. in Systems Engineering – an advantage .
• At least 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering for complex System of Systems development projects – mandatory .
• Proven ability to manage and oversee engineering teams in a matrix environment – mandatory .
• Proven experience in writing technical documentation and conducting system performance analysis – mandatory .
• Familiarity with weapon systems, missile systems, and/or air defense – mandatory .
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hebrew and English – mandatory .
• Willingness to travel abroad – mandatory .
