This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with developmental disabilities and neurodiverse learners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, incorporating curriculum development, literacy education, math, communication skills, and behavioral therapy strategies.
  • Manage classroom environments effectively through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management best practices for students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to support student progress and facilitate integrated interventions.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student development using standardized testing methods and adapt instructional modifications accordingly.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including IEPs, progress reports, behavior logs, and communication records with parents to ensure transparency and compliance with special education law.
  • Mentor and supervise teaching assistants or junior staff, providing guidance on instructional strategies, behavior management, and early childhood education principles.
  • Engage actively in parent-teacher communication to foster strong relationships, provide updates on student achievements, and discuss individualized goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in early childhood education or elementary school settings, particularly those with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders.
  • Strong knowledge of special education practices, including behavior management for students with developmental disabilities and instructional modifications.
  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and monitoring; experience working within special education law is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families, colleagues, speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other support staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curricula that incorporate educational technology integration and literacy education techniques.
  • Childcare experience combined with classroom management expertise in private or Montessori preschool environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders support strategies and early intervention methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches based on individual student needs while maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.

Join our team as a Lead Teacher if you are committed to empowering children through innovative teaching practices, compassionate care, and collaborative teamwork!
