Lead Technical Systems Analyst

Hands-on 2IC to the DevSecOps Lead. Own ops, direct the dev team, and keep digital platforms running. Energy industry ideal, Utilities experience highly regarded.
 
The opportunity

Our client is a well-known energy retailer with a busy Digital and Technology team. They need a hands-on Lead Technical Systems Analyst to step in as 2IC to the DevSecOps Lead.

This is a role for someone who loves the technical detail and can lead. You'll own the ops ticket queue, direct an offshore development team, and make sure every change lands cleanly in production.

What you'll be doing

• Managing all ops tickets, prioritising and driving them through to resolution
• Directing the offshore dev team with clear, well-defined requirements and specs
• Leading implementation across the website, mobile app (React Native) and middleware (Boomi and Solace)
• Analysing integrations, data flows and dependencies, and getting into the detail when things break
• Writing implementation-ready stories and acceptance criteria in Jira, and keeping Confluence documentation sharp
• Supporting releases, change impact assessments and production readiness
• Stepping up for the DevSecOps Lead and representing the function when needed

What you'll bring

• Strong experience as a Technical Systems Analyst, Technical BA, Integration Analyst or Technical Delivery Lead
• Hands-on implementation experience in a complex digital environment
• Proven experience directing offshore development teams
• Excellent, clear communication. You leave no room for misunderstanding.
• Strong Jira and Confluence skills
• A solid understanding of APIs, middleware and integration patterns
• Utilities industry experience, ideally energy

Bonus points for

• Boomi and/or Solace experience
• JSON and API payload analysis
• Salesforce exposure
