Description

The Lead Technician will coordinate the technicians and contractors responsible for the critical utility systems supporting manufacturing, warehousing and offices at a modern, highly automated pharmaceutical manufacturing site in the Netherlands. The role combines hands-on technical expertise across HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, chilled water, boilers and building automation with leadership and coaching, reporting to the maintenance manager.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise maintenance activities across utility systems and facility infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and support to technicians and contractors.
• Support troubleshooting of complex utility and facility-related issues hands-on.
• Work closely with Facilities & Engineering colleagues, contractors and vendors to resolve technical challenges.
• Drive reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in the on-call rotation supporting critical utility systems.

Essential Requirements

• MBO+/HBO-level education or equivalent technical experience.
• Proven hands-on experience in utilities, facilities, maintenance or industrial installations.
• Experience coordinating maintenance activities, projects, contractors or technical teams.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to coach and support colleagues.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Availability for a minimum of 36 hours per week and willingness to join the on-call rotation

Preferred Requirements

• Previous formal team lead or supervisory role.
• Experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
• Knowledge of SAP PM or another CMMS platform.
• Dutch language skills.

Salary: around €75K including 13th month and 8% holiday allowance, plus bonus and on-call allowance.
