Lead Technologist

For our client, a well-established international manufacturing company, we are looking for a Lead Development Technologist to contribute to development projects, from the initial customer inquiry stage through to the launch of serial production.

In this role, you will work closely with the sales team and coordinate activities across various departments. Strong communication and organisational skills, along with previous experience in process engineering, are essential for success.

Candidates with experience in plastic injection moulding and/or automation will have an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of manufacturing processes and tooling for new projects.
• Contribute to new product development, focusing on manufacturability.
• Ensure internal technical alignment and coordinate technical project activities across departments.
• Coordinate activities and timelines with equipment and component suppliers.
• Monitor tooling trials and the production of initial samples.
• Review trial reports.
• Review and prepare technical documentation and enter data into the company's information system.
• Contribute to securing new projects and developing manufacturing process concepts and process cost calculations.
• Transfer tooling, processes and technical know-how to serial production.

Requirements:

• A higher education or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in rubber and/or plastic injection moulding, process automation, or a similar role would be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of CAD, modelling and simulation software, as well as quality management methods, is desirable.
• Fluency in English.
• A valid Category B driving licence.
