Lead Test Automation Engineer

We are hiring on behalf of a large multinational organisation building out its enterprise quality engineering capability in Egypt. The role sits within a dedicated test automation function and carries real strategic weight. It suits a senior automation specialist who wants to set the standard, not just follow it, across large SAP and eCommerce programmes.

What the Role Involves

You will own the automation strategy and set the direction for how testing is done across teams. That means architecting scalable, enterprise-grade frameworks, defining the standards and quality KPIs others work to, and bringing in advanced practices such as AI-driven automation. You will lead automation on major SAP and eCommerce initiatives, mentor engineers below you, and manage testing risk at a strategic level.

Day to day, you will:

• Define and embed the automation strategy across multiple teams.
• Architect scalable frameworks and enforce best practice.
• Set automation standards and the KPIs that measure quality.
• Lead automation on enterprise SAP and eCommerce programmes.
• Coach and develop mid-level and junior engineers.
• Introduce AI-based approaches to test automation.
• Anticipate bottlenecks and resolve them before they slow delivery.

Desired Candidate Profile

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years in test automation, with proven leadership of others.
• Advanced hands-on expertise with enterprise tools such as Playwright, Appium, and UFT.
• Strong performance and load testing background (JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Experience on international, multi-vendor programmes.
• Working knowledge of AI-driven automation.
• Excellent mentoring, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly gross salary: EGP 114,500 to 125,000, plus a 15% annual bonus and 13th and 14th month salary.
