Carlson Tool & Manufacturing Corp. is looking for an experienced Tool Maker with a desire to lead and mentor others to join our talented team of 70+ skilled Machinists and Toolmakers in our climate-controlled, advanced manufacturing facilities located in Cedarburg, WI .

What You’ll Do You’ll play a key role in the design, build, refurbishment, and reverse engineering of plastic injection molds that serve industries like Automotive, Medical, Plastic Packaging, Battery, and beyond. As a Lead Tool Maker, you’ll guide projects through the shop without the need to write plans or purchase material. You will focus on toolmaking while providing hands-on direction to fellow Tool Makers and mentoring apprentices — all in collaboration with a supportive and experienced team.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

• 10+ years of experience as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker is required
• Proven expertise in Plastic Injection Molds is required
• The ability to train and mentor others is required
• The ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering designs and CAD models

A Day In The Life

• Collaborate with project leader(s) and direct our team of Tool Makers
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to apprentices and team members
• Analyze specifications, set up and operate machine tools, and fit/assemble components to fabricate and repair metalworking dies
• Lead plastic injection mold builds from start to finish
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
