About the Role

Bryton Myler LLC is hiring a full-time Lead Video Editor / Story Producer / VFX Artist to help create high-performing YouTube content for a channel with over 4 million subscribers.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in both YouTube editing and visual effects who understands storytelling, pacing, emotion, retention, comedy, music, structure, and YouTube psychology at a high level.

The ideal candidate can take raw footage, understand the intended vibe and emotional direction, and turn it into a polished final product with minimal oversight. Alongside editing and shaping the story, you will create and integrate VFX that bring our concepts to life and elevate the viewing experience.

We need someone who takes ownership of the entire edit. The goal is for Bryton to briefly explain the concept, hand over the footage, and trust that the final video will match the channel’s vision and quality standard.

If you constantly study YouTube, have strong storytelling instincts, enjoy creating visual effects, and naturally think like a creator, this role may be a great fit.

Responsibilities

• Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage to final export
• Build compelling stories with strong pacing and emotional progression
• Create and integrate visual effects, including compositing, motion tracking, green-screen work, cleanup, and other effects as needed
• Develop motion graphics and incorporate 3D elements where appropriate
• Ensure effects blend with the footage and support the story, tone, and humor
• Select music, sound design, timing, and structure that elevate the content
• Understand and maintain the tone and style of the Bryton Myler channel
• Make creative editing and VFX decisions independently
• Organize footage, project files, and VFX assets, and manage post-production workflows
• Collaborate with Bryton and the production team during planning and revisions, including identifying filming needs for planned effects
• Help improve overall content quality and viewer retention

Requirements

• Previous experience editing YouTube content is required
• Previous experience creating visual effects is required, with a portfolio or reel demonstrating your work
• Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling and audience retention
• Ability to independently craft a compelling narrative from raw footage
• Working proficiency in VFX software and the ability to carry effects through to a polished final result
• Experience with Final Cut Pro is strongly preferred
• Strong instincts for pacing, comedy, tension, emotion, and music selection
• Ability to receive high-level direction and execute without constant supervision
• Must be highly organized, communicative, and dependable
• Must be able to work partially in-office in Lehi, Utah

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Blender and/or Adobe After Effects
• Experience with additional VFX or 3D software such as DaVinci Resolve/Fusion, Nuke, Cinema 4D, or Houdini
• Experience with 3D modeling, animation, lighting, rendering, or simulations
• Experience creating effects for action, superhero, comedy, or narrative content
• Experience editing for large YouTube creators or brands
• Experience producing viral or high-performing YouTube videos
• Understanding of thumbnails, hooks, audience psychology, and retention metrics
• Cinematic editing experience

Experience with every software listed is not expected. We value demonstrated VFX ability, strong storytelling, and a willingness to learn the tools needed for each project.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in Lehi, Utah. Some editing and VFX work can be done remotely, but in-office collaboration will also be required.

We are building a highly creative team focused on making some of the best YouTube content possible. This role has significant growth potential for the right person.
