Lead Wastewater Operator

Position Overview

Phoenix Water and Wastewater Operations is seeking an experienced Lead Wastewater Operator/Circuit Rider to oversee and support multiple wastewater treatment facilities. This is a working leadership position involving facility operations, operator training, regulatory reporting, technical consulting, and coordination with the Pennsylvania DEP.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and compliance at multiple wastewater facilities.
• Travel between facilities to inspect operations and troubleshoot treatment or equipment issues.
• Train, assist, and provide technical direction to facility operators.
• Monitor treatment processes, laboratory results, permit limits, and operational records.
• Prepare, review, and submit monthly eDMRs and other required regulatory reports.
• Coordinate sampling, maintenance, repairs, and operator coverage.
• Communicate with clients, laboratories, engineers, vendors, and Pennsylvania DEP.
• Provide clients with operational advice and wastewater-treatment consulting.
• Assist with DEP inspections, compliance matters, and corrective actions.
• Participate in the company’s on-call and emergency-response program.

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania wastewater operator certification appropriate for assigned facilities.
• Previous wastewater-treatment operations experience.
• Knowledge of wastewater processes, sampling, reporting, and DEP compliance.
• Experience completing eDMRs and regulatory submissions is preferred.
• Ability to manage deadlines and responsibilities across multiple facilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between facilities.
• Water operator certification is a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
