Coombes Aquatics Ltd is a nationwide specialist supplier and manufacturer to the commercial pool industry. Our products vary from the design, supply and installation of modular pools and pipework, filtration systems & wellness equipment, through to the manufacture of specialist pool equipment.

About the role
We’re looking for a Leading Hand to join our Christchurch installation and servicing team, working on commercial pool facilities across New Zealand.

This is a specialised industry, and we know we’re unlikely to find someone who ticks every box. You don’t need experience in both pipe fitting and membrane work. If you’re from one side of the trade and keen to learn the other, we’ll train you, and we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading a small crew on site (with support and mentoring from our senior team) and keeping jobs on schedule, safe and to a high standard
• Installing and servicing commercial pool equipment
• Hot-air welding pool membranes and installing pools
• Fitting large-bore PVC pipework and mechanical fittings
• Installing pool plant, including pumps, filters and chemical monitoring equipment
• Installing hydroslides and splash pads
• Installing and servicing sauna and steam equipment
• Building strong relationships with clients and keeping health and safety front of mind on every job

What we’re looking for

Essential

• A background in either pipe fitting, mechanical fitting, waterproofing, TPO membrane or a similar trade
• A willingness to learn new skills and take on a variety of work
• Comfortable travelling for work
• Strong safety awareness and good communication with clients and colleagues
• Full NZ driver licence and the right to work in New Zealand

Great to have

• Experience leading a small team, or a real drive to step up into leading one
• Commercial project experience
