ROLE PURPOSE
The Industrial Engineer - Lean Consultant will be deployed at client manufacturing locations to identify operational inefficiencies,
improve productivity, optimize layouts and processes, and implement Lean systems directly on the shop floor. The role requires a
hands-on, implementation-oriented approach with measurable improvement in cost, quality, delivery and productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct time studies, motion studies, work measurement and productivity analysis.
Shop-floor diagnostics
Process improvement
Map manufacturing processes and identify bottlenecks, waste, non-value-added activities and capacity
constraints.
Implement 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Standard Work, Kanban and
continuous improvement practices.
Lean implementation
Productivity
Support line balancing, manpower optimization, cycle-time reduction and productivity improvement
initiatives.
Design and improve plant, workstation, material-flow and shop-floor layouts for better movement and
utilization.
Layout optimization
Analyze OEE, downtime, rejection, rework, throughput, lead time and other operational KPIs.
Develop SOPs, work instructions, process standards, checklists and visual controls.
Operational KPIs
Standardization
Cost optimization
Identify cost-reduction opportunities across manpower, material movement, process losses, inventory
and operating methods.
Work with operators, supervisors and management teams to implement agreed improvements on-site.
Train client teams on Lean practices, standard work, problem-solving and sustainment mechanisms.
Create action trackers, implementation plans, dashboards and periodic progress reports.
Conduct audits and follow-up reviews to ensure improvements are sustained.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER - LEAN CONSULTANT
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Practical exposure to manufacturing operations, Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing or process improvement.
Working knowledge of Lean tools, productivity improvement, process mapping and shop-floor optimization.
Ability to conduct time and motion studies, capacity analysis, line balancing and manpower calculations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a data-driven approach.
¢ Comfortable working directly with operators, supervisors, plant heads and client management.
¢ Good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and operational reporting.
¢ Strong execution discipline and ability to work independently at client locations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
¢ B.E. / B.Tech in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
¢ Lean / Six Sigma certification will be an added advantage.
¢ Experience in consulting or multi-industry manufacturing environments will be preferred.
MANDATORY MOBILITY REQUIREMENT
This is a client-facing, on-site consulting role. The selected candidate must be willing to relocate temporarily or for extended project
durations anywhere in India depending on client requirements. Frequent travel and continuous shop-floor presence may be required.
