Lean Manufacturing Cell Technician

Location: On-site in Geneva, Illinois

Duration: Temporary Employment (seasonal engagement of 6–10 weeks)

Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

A day in the life

At 7:00 a.m., you step onto our production floor in Geneva and start by reviewing the day’s standard work. You set up a machining and assembly cell, verify tooling, and run first-article checks. As parts move through your station, you log results, adjust settings, and collaborate with teammates to solve issues on the spot using 5-Why thinking. Mid-morning, you rotate into a short run, change over the machine, help with area maintenance, and support a quick Kaizen to remove wasted steps. In the afternoon, you assist with final assembly and prepare a shipment so customers receive product on time and to spec. Throughout the day, you model safety, follow our systems, and help make people better by sharing what you know.

What you'll work on

• Operate and change over production machines and work cells
• Perform basic area maintenance and keep workspaces organized
• Assemble parts to specification and quality standards
• Prepare, package, and ship product to customers
• Engage in process improvement and problem-solving with your team
• Apply root-cause methods (5 Why) to stabilize and improve flow

Minimum qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Background in manufacturing, assembly, and/or warehouse operations
• Forklift experience preferred (not mandatory)
• Familiarity with lean environments preferred (not mandatory)

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Proof of full COVID vaccination or waiver*
• General mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hours daily
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Team-oriented, coachable, and committed to following safety, standards, and systems
• Reliable for scheduled hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., at our Geneva, IL facility

Compensation and schedule

• $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
• 40 hours per week during seasonal/temporary periods (6–10 weeks), standard shift (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.)
