At AstraZeneca, we pride ourselves on crafting a collaborative culture that champions knowledge-sharing, ambitious thinking and innovation – ultimately providing employees with the opportunity to work across teams, functions and even the globe.

Recognizing the importance of individualized flexibility, our ways of working allow employees to balance personal and work commitments while ensuring we continue to create a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork by engaging face-to-face in our offices 3 days a week. Our head office and BlueSky Hub in downtown Toronto are purposely designed with collaboration in mind, providing space where teams can come together to strategize, brainstorm and connect on key projects.

Our dedication to sustainability is also central to our culture and part of what makes AstraZeneca a great place to work. We know the health of people, the planet and our business are interconnected, which is why we’re taking ambitious action to tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time, from climate change to access to healthcare and disease prevention.

About the Opportunity

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and delivering innovative medicines. Within Oncology R&D, our ambition is to help eliminate cancer as a cause of death. As an intern, you will join a supportive global team, contribute to meaningful work and gain practical experience in learning and development.

The Role

Working with the Head of Learning & Development, you will help design, coordinate and launch learning initiatives for Oncology R&D. You will support projects that connect capability needs with business priorities and gain experience in stakeholder engagement, learning technologies, data and responsible uses of AI.

What You’ll Do

  • Help identify learning needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Coordinate learning projects, meetings, timelines and follow-up actions. Research learning trends, tools and content, and summarize findings.
  • Support learning platforms and programs, including Degreed, Cornerstone and Xyleme.
  • Create clear communications, presentations and learning resources.
  • Organize and analyze learning data to support reporting and decisions.
  • Explore responsible uses of AI and digital tools to improve learning.

What You’ll Gain

You will gain hands-on experience in a global pharmaceutical R&D environment, receive coaching and feedback from experienced L&D professionals, build your network and contribute to work with meaningful business and patient impact.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a university degree program; relevant fields include education, human resources, business, communications, life sciences, data, technology or a related discipline.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Curiosity, initiative, adaptability and a collaborative mindset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Interest in learning technologies, data, AI or digital tools; academic, volunteer or extracurricular experience is welcome.

In summary, this internship is an excellent opportunity for a motivated university student to build practical experience, develop professional skills and contribute to meaningful learning initiatives in a global Oncology R&D environment. We welcome curious, collaborative candidates who are ready to learn and make an impact.
