Learning & Development Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to join us in Johor Bahru District, Johor on a full-time basis. This is a strategic role within our Human Resources & Recruitment function, specifically focused on Training & Development. As a Learning & Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and delivering learning initiatives that enhance employee capabilities, foster professional growth and support the achievement of organisational objectives. This position is essential in building a culture of continuous learning across the Company and ensuring our workforce remains engaged, skilled and equipped for future challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging training programmes tailored to meet the specific learning needs of employees across all levels and departments
• Conduct training needs assessments and gap analyses to identify skill deficits and recommend targeted learning solutions
• Deliver training sessions using a variety of delivery methods, including classroom-based, virtual and blended learning approaches
• Create and maintain comprehensive training materials, including course content, workbooks, presentations and digital learning resources
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes through assessments, feedback mechanisms and key performance indicators
• Support employee career development through mentoring, coaching and succession planning initiatives
• Maintain accurate records of training attendance, completion and learner progress
• Stay current with industry best practices, emerging learning technologies and training methodologies to continuously improve our L&D offerings
• Collaborate with departmental managers and senior leadership to align learning initiatives with business strategy and organisational goals

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in learning and development, training delivery or a similar HR function
• Proven experience in designing and delivering effective training programmes across diverse audiences
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design and training methodologies
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire audiences
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Ability to gather and analyse training data to inform decision-making and programme improvements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with presentation software such as PowerPoint
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Malay and/or Mandarin is advantageous
• Certification in training delivery, instructional design or other relevant L&D credentials is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across all organisational levels
