Duties

• Build trusting relationships with students to understand their individual needs, strengths, and challenges.
• Deliver tailored mentoring sessions that promote social skills, emotional resilience, and positive behavior.
• Support students with special educational needs by implementing personalized learning strategies aligned with their Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to develop and review student progress plans.
• Create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages student engagement and participation in classroom activities.
• Assist in managing behavior positively, using proactive strategies to promote a calm and focused atmosphere.
• Monitor student progress regularly, maintaining detailed records of achievements and areas for development.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children or young people, preferably within special education or youth support settings.
• Strong understanding of teaching methods tailored for learners with SEND.
• Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students facing diverse challenges.
• Knowledge of current best practices in special education and youth work.
• Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
• Enthusiastic attitude with a proactive approach to supporting student well-being and development.
• Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or related fields are desirable but not essential; a genuine passion for helping young people succeed is crucial.
