What they need

We are a small independent school located in the picturesque villages of Pirbright & Bisley in Surrey. Knowl Hill is a co-educational school committed to providing exceptional education for students with Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Disabilities (SPLD). There is a lower school currently with pupils from years 5 to year 7, and an upper school with years 8 to 11.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team and support our students in unlocking their full potential.

As an LSA, you will play a crucial role in helping students engage with the curriculum through personalised, multi-sensory learning strategies. You will work closely with both individual students and small groups, supporting them in their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction/supervision of the teacher:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with Dyslexia and other SPLD.
  • Assist in reading, writing, and subject-specific tasks using tailored strategies.
  • Help create and prepare accessible learning materials.
  • Support classroom management and create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement learning support plans.

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage sensitive information.
  • Experience working with students with learning difficulties (Dyslexia/SPLD).
  • Strong understanding of how learning difficulties affect students’ academic and emotional well-being.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a real difference in students’ lives.
  • Work in a supportive, collaborative environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth.
  • Access to specialised resources to support students’ learning.
  • Term time only.

If you are passionate about supporting students with learning differences and would love to be part of a team dedicated to their success, we want to hear from you!

To apply, please complete an application form which can be found on our website and send it to [email protected]

Only short listed applicants will be invited to interview.

Knowl Hill School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. A satisfactory DBS check is required for this position.
