Learning Support Intervention Teacher (Maths & Science)

Duties and Responsibilities

Learning / Behavioural Support

• Plan and deliver targeted interventions to support pupils who are struggling with literacy, maths and general learning.
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them overcome specific learning difficulties, low attainment and barriers to learning.
• Collaborate with class teachers and other professionals to ensure that interventions are aligned with the pupils' individual education plans and school curriculum.
• Develop and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters pupils' confidence, motivation and engagement with learning.
• Ensure that all interventions are delivered in line with school policies, procedures and guidelines.

Assessment, recording and reporting

• Support in the gathering of evidence for assessment of student progress and achievement.
• Provide regular feedback to pupils, parents and teachers on the progress and outcomes of interventions.
• Monitor and track progress of pupils who are receiving interventions, and adapt support strategies as required.
• Participate in meetings (as required) to discuss student progress, achievement and targets.

Pastoral care

• Provide pastoral support the student(s).
• Communicate and consult with the Class Teacher regarding the need for additional pastoral care.
• Follow policies with regard to the health and safety of students both on and off the school premises;
