Learning Technology Specialist

About the role

At National Grid, we're powering the energy transition and building a cleaner, fairer energy future. As we continue to evolve our learning experience, we're looking for a Learning Technology Specialist to help maximise the value of our learning platforms and digital learning solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how technology enables learning across the organisation, ensuring our colleagues have access to engaging, innovative and user-friendly learning experiences.

As a Learning Technology Specialist, you'll be responsible for the administration, optimisation and continuous improvement of our learning technologies. You'll work closely with Learning, HR, IT and business stakeholders to enhance the learner experience, support digital learning initiatives and ensure our platforms meet the evolving needs of the business.

This hybrid role can be based from Eakring, Tipton, Taunton or Warwick.

What you'll do

  • Managing and maintaining learning technology platforms and systems.
  • Providing expert support and guidance to learners, managers and stakeholders.
  • Configuring and testing new functionality, system enhancements and integrations.
  • Supporting the implementation of digital learning solutions and technologies.
  • Analysing system performance and learner data to drive improvements.
  • Creating and maintaining system documentation, processes and user guides.
  • Working with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues and deliver enhancements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the user experience and increase platform adoption.

What you'll need

  • Experience administering or supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning technology platforms.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing system configuration, testing, upgrades and user support.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience supporting the implementation and adoption of digital learning solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across Learning, HR, IT and business teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience creating and maintaining system documentation, processes and user guides.
  • Knowledge of learning technologies, digital learning tools and e-learning standards.
  • Experience working with system integrations, reporting and vendor management.
  • An understanding of learning and development processes and how technology can enhance the learner experience.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering a great user experience.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £50,000 - £59,000 per annum– dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.

This role closes on Friday 30th October at 23:59, however we encourage candidates to submit their application as early as possible and not wait until the published closing date as this can vary.

At National Grid, we work towards the highest standards in everything we do, including how we support, value and develop our people. Our aim is to encourage and support employees to thrive and be the best they can be. We celebrate the difference people can bring into our organisation, and welcome and encourage applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds, and offer flexible and tailored support, at home and in the office.

National Grid is unable to offer sponsorship for employment under the UK points-based immigration system. As such, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship now or in the future under the UK points-based immigration system. However, in exceptional circumstances where there is a clear and demonstrable need for specialist skills that cannot be sourced from the local labour market, National Grid may consider offering sponsorship. All applications are welcome from candidates who meet these requirements, regardless of race, nationality, or ethnic origin.
